Skincare Treatments for youthful and glowing skin

Everyone desires to have a smooth and younger looking skin. Unfortunately, not everybody is blessed with soft, smooth and youthful skin. The various skin issues may be due to hormonal imbalances or some external factors such as climate, pollution, sun exposure, and others.

The changes in seasons also have an impact on the skin. In winters our skin gets dry and we need to moisturize it, and during summers, we face issues like tanning, hyperpigmentation and sun damages. To keep our skin ever-glowing, we need to follow different skincare habits to protect our skin in each season. Some of them are as follow:

Tanning is the most common issue that is faced by almost everyone exposed to sunlight. The harmful UV rays from the sun penetrate deep into the skin which stimulates the melanocyte to produce more melanin, as a result, the skin gets darkened and causes tanning. How to prevent tanning?

  • While stepping out of home, make sure that you apply a sunscreen with both UVB and UVA protectants. To get the perfect result to apply sunscreen 20-30 minutes before you step out.
  • Wear dresses which cover your body and avoid colours which absorb more sunlight (like black).
  • Avoid going out during the peak hours of sun rays
  • The skin gets dehydrated due to dry weather. So it is essential to apply moisturizer regularly
  • Use sunglasses, stoles, etc to cover yourself from dust and sunlight

What are treatments to remove tanning?

Following are the treatments which remove tan from the face, arms, neck, hands, and feet. These treatments reduce the effects of skin aging and provide a uniform tone to the skin.

  • The use of creams that will reduce the pigment production in the skin, causing the skin tone to brighten up over a period of 6 – 8 weeks. These have to be combined with the use of a sunscreen and sun-avoidance to be effective.
  • Chemical Peels- It is a technique used to improve the appearance of the skin. A chemical solution is applied to the skin that causes controlled exfoliation of the skin at a chosen depth. After the peel, new skin is regenerated which is smooth, even toned and less wrinkled than the old skin. A chemical peel can be applied to face, hands and neck.
  • Microdermabrasion- It is an effective method to treat sun damage, wrinkles, face lines, acne spots, scarring and age spots. This procedure renews the skin tone and improves overall skin texture.
  • Laser toning- This is an effective treatment for skin rejuvenation. It breaks down the pigment and reduces sun spots, tan spots, and scars.

Pigment Reduction

It’s not the color of the skin that one should bother about. Every skin tone is beautiful if it is clear and smooth. Natural complexions are always attractive unless it gets damaged by other external factors such as pollution, heat, hormonal imbalances and exposure to the sun.

Hyperpigmentation is a common skin issue that affects people of all skin types. It is caused by the overstimulation of colour pigment melanin. The overstimulation of melanin is due to the exposure to sunlight and hormonal imbalances.

Pigment Reduction Treatments

Consult an experienced Plastic Surgeon or dermatologist and get the best treatment options that suit your skin. Some pigment reduction treatments are as follows:

The use of creams containing vitamin A derivatives and other pigment cell suppressing molecules will cause effective control of existing pigmentary problems.

  • Medi facials- these are combinations of techniques such as Hydrafacial, Microdermabrasion along with Chemical Peels.
  • Chemical Peels – Molecules like TCA are very useful in controlling skin pigmentation problems.
  • Fraxel - Fraxel treatment is a laser technology which reduces the unwanted dark spots, scars and provides smooth and perfect tone to the skin.
  • All pigment reducing treatments have to be supported by meticulous use of sunscreens and through sun avoidance.

Brightening Products

Brightening products remove dull skin and increase the radiance. These products are a vital part of skincare to fight signs of aging. It gives a glowing skin and improves the skin tone.

Benefits of Brightening Products

Brightening products are very useful in completely erasing the dark spots and spots from sun exposure, acne, and scarring. They treat problems such as melasma (a skin condition in which brown patches appears on face).

The ingredients present in the brightening products maintain the skin with moisture and provide antioxidants to the skin.

  • Hydroquinone - It is an ingredient commonly found in skin brightening creams. It acts as a bleaching agent which treats the hyperpigmented skin. It causes reverse effect when exposed to sunlight.
